Positive Material Identification (PMI)

Cornerstone Technical Training Company provides online formal theory training in Positive Material Identification (PMI). The course covers PMI foundations, metallurgy and alloy identification, XRF theory, OES and alternative methods, radiation fundamentals and XRF safety, field-testing workflow, acceptance criteria, traceability, reporting, and case studies. Includes ten instructional modules, knowledge checks, student reference materials, supplemental radiation-safety instruction, and two separate 40-question written examinations. Each written examination requires a score of at least 70% (28/40). A Certificate of Completion is awarded after all required course steps and both passing examinations are completed. Course fee: $500 per student. All course enrollment fees are non-refundable. This is general formal theory training only. Course completion is not personnel certification, practical qualification, a regulatory license, or authorization to operate any particular analyzer. Employer-specific equipment training, supervised experience, practical assessment, applicable radiation-safety requirements, and written employer authorization remain separate. Exam retake policy: Each written examination allows a maximum of three attempts in total (the initial attempt plus two retakes).
